The Deanship of Student Affairs proudly congratulates the
champion, Abdulmalik Maimani, for achieving first place and winning the gold
medal in the youth category of the Judo competition during the Kingdom
Championship for Youth. He also excelled in the National Team Selection
Championship in the -81 kg weight class, held from November 21–23 at the Green
Hall Stadium in Riyadh, organized by the Saudi Judo Federation.
On this occasion, the Deanship of Student Affairs and the university’s sports
club extend their heartfelt congratulations to our champion Abdulmalik for this
outstanding achievement, which adds to his remarkable accomplishments in Judo.

As part of the Community Responsibility Center initiatives, the University of Business and Technology (UBT), in collaboration with Creative Mornings, hosted Dr. Mohammed Hakim for an interactive lecture titled “Building Trust in Career Choices” on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Dr. Hakim shared his personal experiences with trust and discussed the importance of building trust and confidence in career decisions. In line with UBT’s commitment to spreading knowledge and life experiences, the lecture was open to the public, including students, faculty, and staff of the university. Held in the university’s main auditorium, the event attracted approximately 500 people from various community segments.
The TechnoValley at the University of Business and Technology (UBT) has recently joined the prestigious International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP). This membership marks a significant milestone in UBT’s journey towards fostering innovation, research, and international collaboration. The International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) is a global network that connects science parks and innovation districts worldwide. Founded in 1984, IASP promotes the growth and effectiveness of these areas through various activities, including knowledge exchange, networking opportunities, and collaborative projects. UBT has long been committed to advancing research and innovation in multiple fields. By joining IASP, UBT aims to leverage the resources, knowledge, and global network of the association to enhance its own research capabilities and foster a culture of innovation among its students and faculty.
The
College of Business Administration, the Mother College of the University of
Business and Technology, hosted the second advisory meeting of the college for
the year 2023, at the university campus in Corniche, in the honorary presence
of His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Abdullah bin Sadiq
Dahlan and His Excellency the president of the University, Dr. Weam Tunisi, and
the presence of a number of the University leaders, the Dean, Vice Deans of the
college, college advisors and Heads of Departments. The meeting was attended by a group of a-high calibre
Administrative and Executive Leaders in the business sector, led by Mr. Samer
Ibrahim Kurdi - chairman of the board of Directors of Sunbulah group, Ms. Maha
Ahmed Al-Juffali - President of the Saudi Federation for Special Olympics -
founder and director of the Aloun center, Mr. Ali Hussein Reza-managing board
member of Hajj Hussein Alireza & Co.Ltd., Dr. Mohannad Abdullah Dahlan -
CEO of UBT Co., Mr. Maan Fatani - mpco - East Company for paper industry,
Mr. Khalid Ajlan - Savola company - executive general manager of human
resources and Mr. Khalid AlLagani - Gulf General Cooperative Insurance
Company-CEO, Eng. Saad Mohammed Alazem, Managing Partner at Value
Accuracy Co. Crowe KSA, Eng. Ahmed Al-Thubaiti- Director of strategic relations
experience of STC Group, Dr. Amira Al-Turki-former dean of the college and Dr.
Ameen Al-Harbi-former dean of the college. This active group has led influential discussions to
link education with the business sectors to achieve academic excellence at the
local and international levels in practice and academically. The participants
enriched the strategic directions of the College of Business Administration's
through enhancing comments for the new strategy (2024-2028) and shared many
proposals to increase graduates’ chances for successful employment. There were
also views on launching new programs and tracks for the College in the
Bachelor's and Master's programs that correspond to the requirements of the
business world with a focus on artificial intelligence, real-life projects and
Community Impact. The Dean
of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, thanked
all the attendees and praised their active participation, which contributes to
raising the level of the College's outputs and supports its strategy for
continuous development to achieve its vision to be a leading college locally
and recognized internationally for high quality business education. The meeting of the advisory
board was marked by the participation of the happy news of the college, as it
is in its first year towards obtaining the internationally prestigious AACSB
academic accreditation, as only 6% of all business schools in the world are
accredited. The advisory
council came up with a number of recommendations to activate the proposals,
which will be announced after studying them and obtaining final approval from
the higher authorities of the University. Finally, the council
ended by signing two Memorandums of Understandings with Eng. Saad Mohammed
Alazem, Managing Partner at Value Accuracy Co. Crowe KSA, and the other with Mr
Mohammad Mohandes, Partner at Al Azem, Al Sudairy, Al Shaikh and partners for Professional
Consultations. The Memorandums aim to strengthen the relation between academia
and practice ensuring bridging students experiences to the business sector.
