The
College of Business and Administration College presented in the Human Resources
Management Department Club organized a visit to Nafisa Shams Academy on Monday,
October 9, 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Nadra Tawfiq, for the
(HR
Development course )
from
the Human Resources Management Department.
The educational
trip included a comprehensive tour about Nafisa Shams Company, Nafisa Shams
Academy, and the Women Entrepreneurship Incubator. During which, the
female students were introduced to the production line of carpets, textiles and
various products that are produced by female human resources who were trained
under the supervision of the academy. The visit concluded with an in-depth
explanation of the skills required by the current labor market, which are
refined in the academy through training female human resources to be
specialized in different sectors required by the labor market.
The
students expressed their happiness at the existence of such an academy that
works to empower, qualify and train women for the labor market.
The
Dean of the College of Business Administration, Associate Professor Dr Haneen
Mohammad Shoaib, expressed her thanks to Dr Nadra for the exceptional
organization of the trip as well as thanking Nafisa Shams Academy for the
generous hosting of the students of the University of Business and Technology,
which is keen on this type of educational trips that aims to develop students
knowledge and to acquire various high-quality skills.
The
College of Business Administration presented in the “Accounting Department”
hosted Mr. Taher Kapasi – Region Head of Education, the Association of
Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Middle East, as a guest speaker,
who delivered a ACCA workshop about professional certificates which was well
received by the students.
He
revealed in his presentation the importance of the Accounting and Finance
professional certificate in Saudi Arabia and the promising future for the UBT
students in this field, providing students with insights into the world of
ACCA, its benefits, and the numerous opportunities it opens up in the
accounting and finance sector.
He
covered important topics such as the ACCA qualification structure, the global
recognition and reputation of ACCA, the career pathways it offers, and the
support resources available to students.
The
Dean of the College of Business Administration, Associate Professor Dr Haneen
Mohammad Shoaib, thanked the fabulous efforts exerted by the Head of the
Accounting department Dr Ahmed Qotob, in ensuring to bridge the gap between
academia and practice.
