The College of Business Administration at UBT, through the Insurance and Risk Management Department and under the supervision of the Head of Department, Dr. Rewayda Tobar hosted an awareness lecture delivered by representatives from the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI). The session emphasized the significance of social insurance and its vital link to the labor market, highlighting its role in protecting employees and supporting workforce stability.

The University of Business and Technology (UBT) proudly celebrates the achievement of its women’s dodgeball team, who earned second place in the Recreational Dodgeball Championship held on Monday, February 16, 2026. The tournament was organized by Jeddah International College under the supervision of the Saudi University Sports Federation. Representing UBT, eight talented student-athletes competed among six universities and more than 40 players in a highly competitive environment. The championship showcased the continued growth of dodgeball within Saudi universities and reflected the strong determination, resilience, and sportsmanship demonstrated by UBT’s team, who delivered an outstanding performance all the way to the final match. This participation aligns with the strategic goals of the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Women’s Sports Club at the Corniche Campus. Through such initiatives, UBT remains committed to empowering female students in sports, fostering a culture of physical activity, and providing meaningful opportunities for participation in university championships. These efforts contribute to developing leadership skills, strengthening teamwork, and enhancing the University’s position in the Physical and Sports Performance Index among Saudi universities. Following the direction of the University President, H.E Dr. Weam Hosni Tunsi, UBT participated in the coordination meeting bringing together British universities and Saudi private universities and colleges,taking place at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. UBT was represented at the meeting by Prof. Haneen Mohammad Shoaib, Consultsnt of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, as part of the efforts to enhance international academic cooperation and explore opportunities for institutional partnerships and the exchange of expertise across a range of academic and research fields. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaborative frameworks between Saudi and British higher education institutions, expand academic and research partnerships, and support the advancement of quality education and global engagement in line with national higher education development objectives.

The Supply Chain Management Department at the College of Business Administration celebrated the success of its first group of students, with 16 students successfully completing the Odoo Student Diploma. Dr. Karim Soliman, Head of the Supply Chain Management Department, congratulated the students and praised their hard work, dedication, and commitment during the program. He also thanked Prof. Noor Al-Maaitah and Dr. Mosab Habani, faculty members in the department, for their strong academic efforts and continuous support, which helped make this achievement possible. He noted that this success shows the department’s focus on improving students’ practical skills and preparing them for the needs of the job market.

The University of Business and Technology (UBT) participated in the World Aviation Day event held at Flyadeal Headquarters in Jeddah, organized by Global Shapers – Jeddah Hub in collaboration with Flyadeal, as part of an educational and career-focused initiative aimed at introducing students to professional opportunities within the aviation sector. The visit aimed to provide students with insights into career pathways in the aviation industry, as well as exposure to inspiring professional experiences shared by Flyadeal executives and staff. Students also took part in interactive and discussion sessions covering key areas such as operations, commercial functions, and finance. The event additionally included a guided tour of the company’s headquarters, allowing students to explore the work environment firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of the nature of careers in the aviation sector, contributing to the expansion of their professional perspectives. UBT’s participation in this event reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that empower students, enhance their career awareness, and strengthen their readiness for the labor market through partnerships with leading industry organizations.

UBT, represented by Dr. Sarah Zakour, a faculty member in the College of Business Administration’s Retail Department, participated in the national innovation initiative MiyahThon 2. The initiative brings together entrepreneurs, researchers, and creative talents to address complex water challenges and transform promising ideas into real-world applications. Dr. Sarah played a key mentorship role during the event, offering strategic guidance to the participating teams. Her mentorship helped refine project ideas, strengthen problem definitions, and ensure that solutions were both technically viable and economically sustainable. The mentorship sessions, held at the Ritz-Carlton Jeddah, enabled teams to enhance their prototypes, sharpen their value propositions, and align their innovations with industry needs and global best practices. The collaborative environment encouraged creativity, teamwork, and confident preparation for the upcoming stages of the competition.

The University of Business and Technology (UBT) announces Sheikh Ahmed Hassan Fitaihi as the Main Sponsor of the 19th Asia-Pacific Conference on Giftedness (APCG 2026). His sponsorship reflects his strong commitment to fostering talented minds and supporting innovative educational pathways. APCG 2026 will take place at UBT in Jeddah from 7–11 February 2026, under the patronage of H.E. Yousef Al-Benyan, Minister of Education. The conference will gather leading experts from around the world under the theme: “Fast Forward: A Vision for Gifted Education 2050.” Sheikh Fitaihi’s support aligns with the Kingdom’s vision to empower gifted learners, enhance educational excellence, and build a future-ready generation capable of global competitiveness.

The University of Business and Technology, in collaboration with Nestlé Academy, organized a series of training workshops aimed at enhancing students’ professional skills and preparing them for the job market. The workshops were held over two days, with the participation of more than 80 male and female students, and witnessed strong engagement from all attendees. The first day of the workshops included advanced training in communication and presentation skills, with the aim of enabling students to present their ideas confidently and effectively in professional environments. The second day focused on CV writing and interview skills, where students received practical guidance to help them strengthen their professional profiles. This initiative comes as part of the Career Center’s efforts to provide high-quality training programs that enhance students’ readiness and prepare them for a smooth transition into the job market, in collaboration with leading local and international organizations. It also reflects the university’s commitment to its slogan: “Education for Job and Entrepreneurship.”

The Business Analytics & Information Systems (BAIS) Department at the College of Business Administration, UBT, conducted an educational field visit to the IT Division at Savola, supervised by Dr. Nihel Halouani and with the participation of Dr. Fozan Slaghor, as part of the department’s applied learning activities. Students were introduced to the company’s key digital systems and the role of IT in supporting operations and digital transformation. They also engaged in interactive workshops delivered by the IT team and benefited from the insights shared by Mr. Hazim Alahmadi, IT General Manager, regarding essential skills and industry expectations. This visit supports the BAIS Department’s mission to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience and enhance students’ digital competencies in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The Human Resources Department at the College of Business Administration, University of Business and Technology, hosted Mr. Fares Albardisi from Jisr, a leading company in digital HR solutions. He delivered an insightful lecture titled “Artificial Intelligence in Human Resource Management”, in which he discussed the latest applications and future trends of AI in recruitment, performance management, data analytics, and the employee experience. This guest session comes as part of the department’s efforts to enhance students’ practical understanding and connect them with real-world industry practices. The students showed excellent engagement and contributed valuable questions, making the session both interactive and impactful. It represents an important step toward preparing future HR professionals for digital transformation.

The BAIS Department at CBA, UBT, led by Dr. Nihel Halouani, Head of Department, and Dr. Fozan Slaghor, organized an educational visit to HackWave 2025 at the University of Jeddah. The event offered students a valuable opportunity to engage in hands-on learning through interactive cybersecurity workshops and applied challenges. Participants explored key topics such as digital defense, ethical hacking, and system protection, gaining deeper practical insights while fostering creativity, innovation, and digital responsibility.

The Human Resource Management Department at the College of Business Administration, University of Business and Technology (UBT), organized a field visit to Bupa Arabia, where 30 students participated under the supervision and coordination of Dr. Nadra Tawfig and Dr. Maha Basha. During the visit, the students were introduced to several key Human Resource Management practices, including: Company Introduction, Training and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Internal Events & Employee Engagement, Employee Experience, Performance Management, Recruitment and Selection. The visit was highly enriching and contributed significantly to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The students also expressed their great appreciation for the experience and shared how much they benefited from the insights gained during the visit.

The Accounting Department at the College of Business Administration (CBA) celebrated International Accounting Day at the North Abhor Campus.
