Overview

Dr. Mohammad Zulfeequar Alam obtained his Ph.D. Degree in 2005 from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (AMU), India.       

He is currently serving as Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing, University of Business & Technology (UBT), Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Alam has authored a book which has a significant impact on the marketing of alternative medicines, and it has also been cited in the report submitted by WHO, United Nations: Economic and Social Council in 2014, as well as it appeared various international levels of citations. He has to his credit several research papers published in multiple journals and attended numerous workshops and conferences of national and international reputation. In addition, Dr. Alam has been review board members of numerous journals/ committees at the national and international level following are the names a few among them.

1. Received the Prestigious "Dr. Abdullah Dahlan Best Scientific Research Award-2016" by University of Business and Technology, KSA, dated 09 May 2017 at Hilton, Jeddah, and Kingdome of Saudi Arabia.


2. Received the outstanding researcher award of the year- 2017 from CBA at College level at CBA, UBT, Jeddah, KSA.


3. Received Best Poster Presentation Award for the paper entitled "Impact of Social Media and its Influence on Purchasing Behavior of Saudi Consumers: An Empirical Study, of 3rd Research Symposium at UBT, Jeddah, KSA (2018).


4. Received the researcher of the Month certificate (November- 2016) from UBT at University level at CBA, UBT, Jeddah, KSA.

Exprience

Dr.  Mohammad Zulfeequar Alam started his carrier as a projects coordinator in the Institute of Objective Studies (“IOS” a consultative body empanelled with the Economic and Social Council of United Nations), New Delhi India in 2005. He has been an appointed faculty on board and served as Head of Department of Management Studies at Sacred Heart Degree College, Sitapur, U.P. in 2006. As well as he served as a deputy controller of examination in Sacred Heart Degree College on behalf of Kanpur University in 2007.  Dr.  Alam served as an Assistant Professor & was the Founder Head of the Dept. of Management Studies in Jahangirabad Institute of Technology, Barabanki, U.P since 2007-08. He is currently serving as Associate Professor of Marketing, University of Business & Technology (UBT), Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Research

My research interests are focused on the practice of marketing as a profession. I have successfully designed, organized, monitored and conducted marketing research studies on a vast range of consumer products and services national and international levels. I had engaged myself in providing turn-key project for banking services research studies were the integral to the project which was funded by leading financial institutions, Aligarh Garmin Bank and NBARD (by Govt. of India on the topic "An Evaluation Study on the Impact of Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP) in Aligarh District, U.P" in 1999.

Supervise / Guide the students in any marketing topic. In the past I have successfully evaluated two PhD students work and supervised several Master Dissertations. Here, suggest broad areas of my research but not limited to the given topic that can be converted in to potential topic of research after the discussion with students. The sectors can be identified like, SMEs, E commerce, Travel and Tourism Services, Higher Education, Hotels Industry, Banking Services, Health Services, Telecommunications & Information Technology Services, Real Estates Marketing, etc. keeping in mind the availability of the data, time, cost and other factors associated with it. My research expertise falls into the following Marketing Areas: " MARKETING STRATEGIES " CONSUMER PSYCHOLOGY " DIGITAL AND SOCIAL MARKETING " RETAIL MANAGEMENT, SERVICES MARKETING (INCLUDES ALL THE SERVICES SECTORS) " RETAIL AND LOGISTICS " BRANDING " ADVERTISING AND SALES PROMOTIONS " BUSINESS TO BUSINESS (B to B) BUYERS " INTERNATIONAL MARKETING, ETC.
