The Intellectual Awareness Unit at the University of Business and Technology, in collaboration with the College of Engineering and the General Subjects Department at the College of Business Administration across both university branches, the Corniche and Abhor campus, organized the celebration of the International Day for Tolerance on Sunday, 16 November 2025.

The International Day for Tolerance is an annual occasion dedicated to promoting the values of tolerance and respect, and rejecting all forms of intolerance, discrimination, and hatred. It is regarded as a human value that characterizes advanced societies and is essential for building cultural and civilizational understanding that supports development. The aim is to create a cooperative and tolerant environment that strengthens the values of moderation and respect within the educational community and enhances students’ ability to benefit from cultural diversity as a rich source of learning and effective communication.

Several activities and competitions were organized, including a “Best Quote on Tolerance” competition for female students and staff in the main lobby of the Corniche campus, along with a display of posters featuring key messages about the meaning and purpose of the day. Students and staff across both campuses actively participated, which helped promote openness, a spirit of cooperation, and sustained tolerance between cultures. The event also highlighted one of the Sustainable Development Goals aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.

GB Student Trip to Makkah Al-Mukarramah

The University of Business and Technology, represented by the Intellectual Awareness Unit. Organized a student trip to Makkah Al-Mukarramah, including visits to the International Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Culture at the Clock Tower and the Holy Mosque Library.

These trips aim to enhance students’ religious and national loyalty, strengthen Islamic identity, and foster spirituality and intellectual development.

International Anti-Corruption Day (December 9)

The University of Business and Technology, in collaboration with the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), organized a workshop titled “The Concept, Impacts, and Risks of Corruption” presented by Mr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani.

The workshop discussed key concepts, causes, and forms of corruption, as well as Nazaha’s role in combating it.

Awareness messages and articles were also shared across the university’s platforms in observance of International Anti-Corruption Day.

University of Business and Technology Participates in the World Muslim League’s Global Conference on Girls’ Education in Pakistan

The University of Business and Technology (UBT) participated in the Global Conference of the Muslim World League’s Initiative for Girls’ Education, held in Islamabad under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, from January 10–14.

UBT was represented by Prof. Dr. Najat Abdulrahman Al-Yazji, General Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit, under the direction of Dr. Abdullah Bin Sadiq Dahlan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

During the conference, UBT launched an online Arabic language learning initiative for girls in Pakistan, in cooperation with the Muslim World League, aiming to enhance cultural understanding and promote the Arabic and Islamic identity.

The initiative received wide appreciation as a strategic step toward empowering women and strengthening education in Muslim communities.

Campus Ethics and Conduct

The Intellectual Awareness Unit at the University of Business and Technology organized an awareness seminar titled “Campus Ethics and Conduct.”

The seminar was presented by Dr. Wafaa Abdul Badea Alyafi, Associate Professor of Strategic Management, and Dr. Fatimah Mohammed Farsi, Associate Professor of Hadith Studies.

The discussion covered key topics including ethical values within the university, respectful interaction, classroom etiquette, personal appearance, and proper use of campus facilities.

The session concluded with an emphasis on adhering to the Student Code of Conduct and respecting university regulations.

University of Business and Technology Participates in the First Graduate Students Scientific Forum at Umm Al-Qura University

The University of Business and Technology (UBT) participated in the First Graduate Students Scientific Forum organized by Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah under the theme: “Enhancing Intellectual Awareness and National Belonging.”

UBT was represented on the judging committee by:

• Prof. Dr. Najat Al-Yazji, General Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit.
• Dr. Wafaa Alyafi, Member of the Intellectual Awareness Unit.

Both participated in evaluating research papers and scientific posters and were honored by Umm Al-Qura University in recognition of their valuable contributions to the forum’s success.

This participation reflects UBT’s commitment to strengthening academic partnerships, promoting intellectual awareness, and fostering national identity and community responsibilities.

University of Business and Technology Participates in the Conference “The Responsibility of Universities in Promoting Values and Intellectual Awareness”

The University of Business and Technology (UBT), represented by its Intellectual Awareness Unit, participated in the Conference on “The Responsibility of Universities in Promoting Values and Intellectual Awareness”, organized by Umm Al-Qura University from August 25–27, 2025, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may Allah protect him.

UBT was represented by:

• Dr. Mohammed Al-Qarni, Vice President for Academic Affairs.
• Prof. Dr. Najat Al-Yazji, General Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit.
• Dr. Wafaa Alyafi, Member of the Intellectual Awareness Unit.

The conference aimed to highlight Saudi Arabia’s efforts in promoting human values and intellectual awareness, provide a sustainable academic platform for research exchange, and envision the role of universities in fostering moderation, identity, and national belonging, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

The event witnessed broad participation from Saudi universities and supervisors of intellectual awareness units across higher education institutions.

University of Business and Technology Signs Cooperation with Muslim World League to Launch Arabic Language Initiative

On October 15, 2025, the University of Business and Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Muslim World League to launch the initiative “Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers”, supporting the MWL’s program for educating girls in Muslim communities.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Wiam Tunsi, University President; Dr. Laila Jamjoom, Dean of Social Responsibility; Prof. Dr. Najat Al-Yazji, General Supervisor of the Intellectual Awareness Unit; Dr. Wafa Al-Yafi, Advisor to the Unit; and Dr. Shaimaa Al-Luqmani, Director of Strategic Partnerships at MWL, along with other senior leaders from both institutions.

Dr.Tunsi highlighted that the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to fostering dialogue, cultural diversity, and mutual understanding through language and knowledge, while Dr. Al-Luqmani emphasized the impact of such partnerships on millions of girls and women in Muslim communities worldwide.

This initiative builds on the ongoing collaboration between the university and MWL, originally announced at the MWL Global Conference in Islamabad, Pakistan, in January 2025, aiming to create meaningful educational and social impact locally and globally.
