For the first time in CBA’s history, marketing students in the “Brand Management” course partnered with Savola Group on a real campaign for “Afia Nuts.” The project, worth 60% of the course grade, added a competitive edge that inspired creativity and commitment.Six teams delivered integrated campaigns with market analysis, creative concepts, digital solutions, and media planning. The winning team impressed with a locally tailored campaign, strong slogan, and effective promotions. As part of its commitment to bridging academia and industry, the Jeddah College of Advertising (JCA) at the University of Business and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SAD News Channel during the Forward graduation exhibition.The MoU aims to provide students with professional training and hands-on experience in the media industry. It will also support content creation, strengthen journalism skills, and help students build expertise in digital media.SAD News Channel expressed excitement about the agreement, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing Saudi talent and equipping students with the tools needed to thrive in today’s evolving media landscape. JCA emphasized that this collaboration reinforces its mission to connect academic learning with industry practice, offering students meaningful pathways into careers in broadcast and digital media
The College of Business Administration at the University of Business and Technology, represented by the Accounting Department, organized two workshops aimed at deepening students' practical understanding of key accounting practices on May 7 at the university's Corniche campus.The first workshop, on the development of the tax system in the Kingdom, was presented by Dr. Ihsan Al-Bahkali, Director of Ihsan Financial and Administrative Consulting Office. The second workshop, titled "Internal Audit and Governance," was presented by Mr. Ibrahim Saif Al-Din, Director of Internal Audit at Ground Services Company. Both workshops were organized to fulfill the Accounting Department's mission of linking theoretical knowledge with professional practice.The workshops were attended by Dr. Kholoud Bajunaid, Vice Dean of the College, as well as a large number of students and faculty members. At the conclusion, Dr. Kholoud presented certificates of appreciation to the guests. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to outstanding students and those who published academic research at international conferences. Faculty members were also honored for their outstanding efforts in obtaining academic accreditation for the Master of Science in Accounting program.
The University of Business and Technology's College of Business Administration (CBA), represented by the Marketing Department and headed by Dr. Sharifah Ahmad, organized a workshop for Marketing students. The workshop was led by UBT graduate Ms. Dana Younis, an experienced marketer, who delivered an interactive workshop titled “Back to UBT: Guiding Future Marketers through Afia Challenge” on the 16th of April 2025 at the UBT Corniche campus.The workshop was directly related to Marketing students in the Brand Management course, as they are currently working on their marketing communications campaign for Afia snacking products. It gave them the opportunity to further explore various aspects of marketing campaigns through real, live examples, as part of their preparation for the Afia presentation. The students are scheduled to present their 360-degree marketing campaigns to Savola executives in May, as part of the ongoing collaboration between UBT and Savola to inspire students with a real-world marketing challenge.The CBA Vice Dean, Dr. Kholoud Bajunaid, thanked the CBA organizers and Ms. Dana for her willingness to share her experience with the students. Jeddah College of Advertising students visit ServicePlan House of Communication agency at their headquarters in Jeddah. Eighteen Industry Practice 1 students, along with their course instructor Ms. Reine Houssami, visited the distinguished advertising agency to establish a better understanding of the theoretical work from their classes by observing how agencies in KSA function. Such visits also strengthen the ties between the college and the advertising industry and ensure that all course offerings reflect market needs.

The workshop series commenced with a session led by Ms. Riva Badr, Senior Account Director at the global agency Ogilvy, titled “Understanding Advertising in the Saudi Market.” The session explored key challenges and opportunities for advertisers in the local market, emphasizing the importance of cultural insight and audience targeting in successful advertising campaigns.Following this, Ms. Menna Al-Saadawi, Talent Development Partner at Publicis Groupe, conducted a workshop titled “Exploring a Career Path in Advertising.” She focused on strategies for building a successful career in the competitive advertising industry.The third workshop was delivered by Mr. Karim Marwah, Head of Digital Innovation at Serviceplan Agency, under the title “Advertising and Artificial Intelligence.” He discussed the impact of emerging technologies on creative advertising and how they are improving the efficiency of digital campaigns.The fourth session was a tailored training program for university leadership, titled “Mastering Media Charisma,” presented by media professional Dr. Naif Al-Olayani. The session concentrated on media influence skills and cultivating a strong leadership presence across various communication contexts.The event concluded with a workshop presented by Ms. Dania Al-Hamrani, Director and Producer at Eggdancer Productions, titled “An Overview of AI-Supported Filmmaking.” She explored the intersection of cinematic creativity and advanced technology, highlighting future opportunities in the field.These events underscore the College of Advertising’s dedication to fostering a dynamic learning environment grounded in practical experience and industry engagement, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to navigate the evolving demands of the modern job market.
In a step that affirms the commitment of UBT to positively engage with regional and international initiatives aimed at developing higher education, the university, represented by Dr. Ghada Nasseif, Vice President for Development and Quality, participated in the 57th session of the General Conference of the Arab Universities Union. This conference, held under the title "Arab Higher Education in the Era of Digital Transformation and Enhancing Regional Integration," took place at the International University in Kuwait. The conference witnessed broad participation from more than 250 Arab universities from various parts of the Arab world. Dr. Ghada Nasseif emphasized the importance of the conference in strengthening partnerships with universities, exchanging experiences, and discussing the challenges facing education in the Arab world. She expressed her sincere appreciation for the exceptional efforts made by the General Secretariat of the AArU and IUK, which hosted this important event.
The Supply Chain Management Department organized a field visit to Atmata, a leader in smart robotics manufacturing, with 20 students participating under the supervision of Dr. Karim Soliman, Head of the Supply Chain Management Department, and with the support of Dr. Ramzia AlBakri, Dean of the College of Business Administration. Accompanied by faculty members Ms. Bayan Arab and Ms. Maha Basha, students explored the latest technologies in automation, smart robotics, and industrial innovation. This visit is part of the department’s efforts to enrich students’ practical learning and prepare them for the evolving job market.

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Marketing Department at the college of Business administration and Goody to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the second session of the real-life marketing research project was successfully conducted.This session, attended by Goody representative Ms. Asma Muqaibil and delivered by Mr. Imran Shaikh, focused on equipping students with essential data analysis techniques to prepare them for the final stage of the project. Mr. Shaikh guided students through practical approaches to analyzing and interpreting data, helping them draw meaningful insights that will support their final presentations and recommendations.The initiative, coordinated by Dr. Kholod Aggad and supervised by both Dr. Aggad and Professor Mohammad Zulfeequar, continues to offer students a hands-on learning experience rooted in real-world marketing challenges.The department extends its appreciation to Goody and its dedicated representatives for their valuable contribution to this academic-industry partnership aimed at enriching student learning and career readiness.
